Easter Sunday

It's Easter Sunday. I did my usual routine of going to get gas and picking up a few things from the grocery, but some of the stores were closed. I decided to check Fiesta and luckily they were open. I didn't really need anything, but there were some things I wanted. Fiesta was open and I picked up a few things including cabbage which I had been wanting to get for quite sometime. I usually keep some in the freezer.

Since CBS Sunday morning wasn't on because of the gold tournament I decided to watch the Ten Commandments. I had planned to watch it later, but since it is a long film I decided to go ahead and watch it while having breakfast and typing this entry. It had always been a tradition to watch the film which all started with my grandmother when I was young. Any movie with any type of religious story we watched. I later added a few of them to my collection when I got older and remembered some of them that hadn't seen the light of day for years. At least I had never seen them.

Things have been somewhat chaotic. I have not stayed on track with my goals. There have been some unexpected things come up. The weather, vehicle issues and dealing with traffic. My service engine soon light came on and I was concerned. I brought it in to the dealer and had it taken care of. I wasn't sure how much it would cost, but I needed my vehicle to get to work. I am still learning the job and trying to decide what I want to do and what I should do.

I continue to work on creating collages and scrapbook pages with some of my older art. I have a few greeting cards I need to make and I was thinking of seeing if they would sell on Etsy. Some of the designs although made specifically for an individual might be of interest to someone else. I would change a few things.

I need to review my goals and get myself back on track. I need to see about getting a passport since I found out today that the waiting time is taking longer than normal. It's also close to tax time. I usually wait until the day of to do my taxes. I am hoping I won't have to pay anything to the IRS. I am having to start over since I had to pay for the repairs on my vehicle. I have cut back where I can until I get back on track. I have family members that keep telling me their plans and others hinting that they would like me to visit, but there are many reasons I can't commit to anything even though I would like too. I have not seen family and some friends in almost ten years and some even longer. Some I presume gave passed away as I have not been able to get in touch with them. I do keep in touch with people via email and texts. Technology does make that happen, but nothing beats the face to face communication. Everyone is scattered across the U.S. now as a result of Katrina. The pandemic and the unpredictable weather makes it difficult for me to travel. Trauma of Katrina comes and goes, but mores so within the last few years. I thought I was over it, but some traumas never go away.

The one thing that has always kept me sane is my art in some form or fashion. I use my phone for taking pictures on a whim. I sketch from time to time in my journal. I hope to get some paintings done and I will do a virtual art show on my art blog and I will put together a video for youtube and see if there is any interest. The paintings measure 16 x 20, but there will be some smaller pieces. I am just going to experiment and price everything accordingly. Some paintings will be inspired by drawings that I have done. I will even sell some of the drawings which have appeared on some of the greeting cards. The minature watercolors and drawings have been very detailed which I really like. I want to experiment with colors that I don't normally use. Some of the drawings I am posting here are done with colors that I don't normally use.

I should have done an adult coloring book as they still seem to be popular. Of course its never to late. I would need to invest in a new copy machine. Although my copy machine may just need to be cleaned and get some new ink. I'll have to play around with it and see what happens. I don't have much need for printing stuff lately as I have been working with drawings that were done many years ago.

I'm going to work on coloring a few drawings that were inspired by works by Patrick Nagel. Some will be framed individually and some will become part of a collage. It just depends on what the finished product looks like. They are small pieces that measure 3 x 5.

Thanks fir stopping by; keep an open mind and do come back to see where the journey leads.
